

At the time the designer first got her hands on the house, it was in roofless ruin, she recalls. The stone retreat was soon outfitted with striking wood rafters, a large dining table, a magnificent blond wood mantel, and loads of fishy flourishes, creating an ideal setting for entertaining. The key to keeping the décor theme classy, the designer says, was hand selecting a vintage collection where each item had some age.
