Charming Clock Collection

See how the minutes and hours of each day are gracefully observed in this Alabama home.

For Sandra DeShazo, keeping track of the time is more than a common occurrence. It’s a cherished event, particularly since her Homewood abode is filled with beautiful antique clocks of all shapes and sizes. Sandra’s charming clock collection allows her to pass the time in style. Whether they’re French, American, German, or of another origin, Sandra’s clocks have two things in common—they’re antiques (many are over 150 years old) and they work.

An avid lover of vintage timepieces that chime, gong, and tick, Sandra has spent the last 25 years collecting them. Whether hanging on the wall, sitting on a tabletop, or standing tall from the floor, antique clocks bring a classic, traditional feel to any space.

Many of Sandra’s clocks are finely crafted with ornate carvings and choice materials, such as burl walnut and mother-of-pearl.

Every tick and tock from Sandra’s cherished clocks makes Sandra feel even more at peace in her space. When asked about them, Sandra sums up her passion by saying, “I believe that clocks soothe the soul—and give us rhythm and order in our lives.”
