As an art lover, Mike spent years curating his collection, and it increased exponentially when he married Lydia. Mike’s maps, both old and new, are displayed gallery style throughout their home alongside Lydia’s oil paintings and other artwork. Many of the pieces, like the concert print from one of their first dates, tell bits of their love story.
The living room embraces midcentury modern style with a striking accent rug made from textured print and solid-color carpet tiles from FLOR. Lydia designed the pattern, cut each tile with a craft knife, and secured the pieces with Gorilla Tape. The piano hearkens back to Lydia’s practice sessions tickling the ivories. “I’m always delighted when a true pianist does those keys justice,” she jokes.
