Designer Susan Sargent helped bring their house to life by building a connected color story that flowed from one end of the house to the other. Susan and her color team started in the living room and found inspiration in the family’s art, Indonesian collections, and favorite flowers, and they decided on a rich burnt orange wall color. From there everything followed suit—reupholstered furniture, a whitewashed fireplace, and of course, connecting the color story to the remaining front rooms, delivering a progression of color from orange to marmalade to pale yellow.
