
But it wasn’t just traffic flow that improved. Without the wall, Jan could see the family room fireplace from the kitchen. And with the addition of beams, the room reminded her of a lodge. “Fall’s my favorite season—the weather, the smells, the colors—so I love the rustic style. Fall is when the brisk weather brings us all inside to enjoy food, warmth, and togetherness, so the changes we made in the floor plan were perfect.” Jan laughs, “It may be a quirky floor plan, but it works for us.”
