The island, for example, was built with pieces of wood from fallen trees at Ben’s hunting property, and the countertops are made from pieces of wood they found in a barn. The cabinet doors on each side of the sink were found in France. They were falling apart, so Ben made hinges that go all the way across and actually hold the door together, making them fully functional for daily use.
