From classic oranges and elegant whites to gorgeous variegated varieties, pumpkins will always be a staple of our fall décor—and one of our favorite spots to showcase their many charms is the porch, where they can welcome guests and delight passersby all season long. If you’re looking for ways to freshen up your fall porch display, take a few cues from these creative takes on an autumnal icon.
The Perfect Companions

While your pumpkins may be the star of the show, never underestimate the power of a good supporting act. Vibrant floral elements—like the ever-classic mum—add color and whimsy, while bales of hay both create height and contribute texture to this fanciful fall display.
Step Up

Consider your porch’s unique charms when planning your display. Here, an abundance of brick steps leading up to the door creates the perfect opportunity to show off a variety of pumpkins and florals, all grouped together for lovely layers galore.
Color and Contrast

Against a canvas of white pumpkins, accents like sprigs of seasonal berries stand out and create an additional layer of elegant charm. Experiment with your choice of autumn accoutrements and find your favorite combo for creating a “wow” moment on your porch.
Piled High

Height is of the upmost importance when creating dynamic displays, and while elements like crates and plant stands are always great options, there’s a simpler solution: more pumpkins. Stack them atop one another and fill in with potted plants for a fun finished product.
Small but Stylish

Show off more miniature varieties of your preferred produce in a creative way, like piling them into baskets or tucking them into lanterns for loads of visual interest.
Fireside Fun

There’s nothing like cozying up next to a crackling fire during the autumn season, and a collection of colorful gourds only makes the experience more enchanting. Arrange them on the hearth, the mantel, or both, then grab your favorite throw and enjoy the view.
Door Décor

A fun wreath decorated with diminutive faux pumpkins adds just one more welcoming detail to this front door—a touch that’s sure to make guests smile!
All Together Now

For a porch display that really packs a punch, mix and match the techniques that best fit your space. Stacked pumpkins and hay bales create height on this front step, while the addition of potted crotons and decorative corn add color and texture—and a pile of smaller pumpkin varieties contributes yet another layer of charm. Whichever elements you prefer to utilize, the most important thing is that your porch display brings you joy all season long.
