My favorite scene from the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” is when Jimmy Stewart’s young daughter says, “Look, Daddy, teacher says every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.” For me, there is a certain magic about Christmastime that these ornaments encapsulate. I’ve come to appreciate the collection more and more with each passing year, but I’ve also realized something more important. You don’t need shiny ornaments or a glittering tree to put Christmas spirit in the air. It’s the bonds of selflessness, generosity, and compassion that give this season its marvel. The magic of Christmas starts in the heart.
